We know Samsung is working on the 2017 iterations of its Galaxy J series smartphones. In fact, all the three viz Galaxy J3 2017, J5 2017 and J7 2017 have made their individual appearances on certification and benchmarking sites. Galaxy J5 2017 has once again popped up on the horizon, this time paying a visit o Bluetooth SIG. It has already appeared on Geekbench, GFXBench and WiFi Alliance. And the recent Bluetooth certification is an indication enough that its release is just round the corner.

The Bluetooth listing shows four different variants of Galaxy J5 2017 with model numbers SM-J530F, SM-J530L, SM-J530S and SM-J530K. The first and the second model numbers signify the International and Korean variants of Galaxy J5 2107. As is the usual case, it’s hard to draw much details about a device from Bluetooth listing. As such, it does not reveal much about J5 2017.

However, the appearance of J5 2017 on Geekbench and WiFi Alliance helped us put together a decent specsheet list. Based on that, we can assume that Samsung will be shipping Galaxy J5 2017 with Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box. It will be powered by octa core Exynos 7870 processor clocked at 1.59GHz.

GFXBench listing, on the other hand, showed Galaxy J5 2017 sporting 4.8 inch display which we are doubtful of being correct as the J5 2016 model had a 5.2-inch display. The device is likely to pack in 2GB RAM along with 16 GB of internal storage. On the imaging front, we might see a 12MP/12 MP front and rear cameras on board the J5 2017. With these specsheet, it certainly is an upgrade from the J5 2016 smartphone.
