Samsung is inching closer to making its 2017 iterations of Galaxy J series official. After spotting Galaxy J3 2017 on Geekbench today, we have come across Galaxy J5 2017 sitting comfortably at US certification site FCC bearing model number SM-J530F.
Galaxy J5 2017 has already made an appearance on Geekbench, GFXBench, WiFi Alliance, Bluetooth. And now its receiving FCC certification hints that it has cleared all the necessary stages required and is itching to get officially launched.

When it comes to specsheet, FCC hopelessly fails us. So turning our attention to other benchmarking sites viz GFXBench and Geekbench, we get the specsheet list for J5 2017 which is touted to be equipped with 4.8 inch display, 2GB RAM along with 16 GB of internal storage. But releasing J5 2017 with 4.8 inch display is doubtful as the J5 2016 model had a 5.2-inch display.
On the imaging front, the J5 2017 will sport a 12MP/12 MP front and rear cameras which definitely is an upgrade from its predecessor. Powered by octa-core Exynos 7870 processor clocked at 1.59GHz, it will be shipped with Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box.
