It is not that Samsung is showering all its attention to the premium S series when it comes to regular security patches. Samsung’s J series and A series devices are also in for a new firmware update. The company has started pushing the latest monthly security patch update to Galaxy J5 (2016) and Galaxy A8 units.
The update installs the February Android security patch on the smartphones. The Galaxy J5 (2016) is receiving the update as build number J510MNUBU2AQA5 while for Galaxy A8 the update arrives as build number A810FXXU1AQA2.
Two other members in the J-series group which have already received the February security update are Galaxy J7 Prime and Galaxy J5 Prime.
The build number for the J5 Prime update is G570MUBU1AQA3 which started rolling out on February 7th. The phone still runs Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow and we don’t expect a Nougat update to be available anytime soon for the device.
Galaxy J7 Prime, on the other hand, started receiving the February security update a day earlier on February 7th as build number G610FDDU1AQA2. In this case as well, the update was Marshmallow based.

Coming to the Galaxy A8, strangely enough the device received two monthly updates — the January as well as February — within a span of 8 days. In the first week of February, it was still getting the January security build following which Samsung acted fast enough to bring the February monthly update to the device which is being rolled out as we speak.
The updates being OTA should hit your devices anytime soon. For a manual check, head to Settings » About device » System updates.
