What to know

  • Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Buds 3 have leaked online, and their design looks  heavily inspired by AirPods.
  • The design language on Buds 3 is a major departure from the company’s previous earbud generation.
  • Galaxy Buds now have sharper features, ear stems, and a case that is also similar to the AirPods.

Samsung has traditionally steered away from copying any major product when it comes to their product designs. But recent leaks suggest that the its upcoming Galaxy Buds 3 will copy the design language of Apple’s AirPods.

Leaked on Korean e-retailer Coupang and posted on X, the design of Galaxy Buds 3 marks a major departure from the more rounded bulb-like shape on the Galaxy Buds 2 and Galaxy Buds FE. The new design is very similar to AirPods, both for the earbuds as well as the case.

The stems and the vents on the Galaxy Buds 3, which were nonexistent on the company’s earlier earbuds, look very much like those on the AirPods, albeit with much sharper edges. The design language does suggest that Samsung could be working on a standard and a Pro version of the Galaxy Buds 3.

There’s a possibility that these earbuds might be announced during Samsung’s Galaxy Unpacked event, usually held in July or August. Stay tuned for further updates and confirmations.
