Samsung Galaxy A7 2017 was released last month at the CES event alongside Galaxy A5 2017 and A3 2017. Specsheet wise, it definitely was an upgraded version of original Galaxy A7. However, the Marshmallow based OS, which it carried, was a downer, making us look ahead in anticipation for a Nougat update.
The Galaxy A7 2017 sports 5.7-inch Super AMOLED full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) display. It is powered by Octa-core Exynos 7880 processor clocked at 1.8 GHz paired with 3GB RAM and 32GB expandable internal storage. On the camera front, it features 16 MP/16MP camera combo with f/1.9 aperture. It also comes with IP68 certification which makes it dust and water resistant.
Galaxy A7 2017 Nougat update: What to expect?
Once updated to Android 7.0 Nougat, Galaxy A7 2017 will be endowed with all the goodies the new OS tags along with it viz better notification controls, split-screen mode, data saver, improved battery life, new emojis, improved settings menu and more.

We can also expect the Nougat update to bring Samsung Pay app to A7 2017 as was the case with Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge in India.
Galaxy A7 2017 Nougat release date: When to expect?
Currently, there’s no official word from Samsung about the Nougat release date for Galaxy A7 2017. But considering the fact that Samsung is rolling out the latest OS to Galaxy S7, S7 Edge and has reportedly lined up Galaxy S7 Active and Galaxy A5 for the update, we assume the wait for 2017 variant of A7 should not be longer.
Galaxy A7 2017 Android 7.1.1 update
As the Galaxy A7 2017 will probably receive the Nougat update in Q2, there are chances that Samsung might skip the Android 7.0 update and directly upgrade the OS to Android 7.1.1 instead. If the Android 7.0 Nougat update arrives before Q2, we should see it being bumped up to Android 7.1.1 in the second quarter in that case.
