Samsung’s mid-range handsets the Galaxy A3 (2016), Galaxy J7, Galaxy J2, and the Galaxy J1 Ace Neo are now receiving a new update which installs the latest Android security patch on all the said phones.

The update is arriving with the software version number as follows:

  • Galaxy A3 (2016): A310N0KOU1CQF1
  • Galaxy J2: J200HXXU0AQF1
  • Galaxy J7: J700FXXS4BQF1
  • Galaxy J1 Ace Neo: J111FXXU0AQF1

You can expect the update to bring several system and performance improvements to all the phones mentioned above. And, as is the case with any security patch, there will, of course, be bug fixes.

Before downloading/installing the update, make sure your device has enough charge left (60% at least) for the process to finish successfully. Also, it is wise to back up your personal data which will come in handy in case things go wrong.

And, as usual, connect to a Wi-Fi network before downloading the update to avoid additional data charges. You can, however, continue without switching to a Wi-Fi network if you have enough cellular data.
