Samsung has been slowly but steadily rolling out the February security update to its devices one by one. The latest to receive the monthly update is Galaxy A3 2016 and Galaxy Tab A 8-inch units in Europe.

The February security update is hitting the Galaxy A3 2016 as build A310FXXU2BQA8 while the S-Pen edition of Galaxy Tab A is receiving the update as build A310FXXU2BQA8.

The Galaxy A3 2016, which was launched way back in 2015 with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop, has been upgraded to Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow and still runs on it. But we do expect Samsung to release the Nougat update sometime in the second half of this year for the device. On the other hand, Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 was released two years back with Android 5.0 Lollipop.

The update is being rolled out as OTA in Europe which you can grab as soon as it arrives. Or you can download the update manually, in case waiting is not your thing, by heading over to Settings » About device » System Updates.

Before proceeding to download the OTA, ensure your device has at least 50% charge and is connected to a WiFi. Also make sure that all of your important data has been backed up.
