In Where Winds Meet, the quest 'For Whom Does He Return' is a main story quest - part of the final Qinghe storyline chapter - that starts once you return to the ruined temple. Location

The quest For Whom Does He Return takes place in the Qinghe region in the Kilnfire Ridge.

Walkthrough

Step 1

Make your way to the location and find Yi Dao seated by the campfire.

After the cutscene, follow Yi Dao back to Blissful Retreat.

Step 2

Investigate the sound. Follow the marker and approach the flames.

Talk to Du Qiaoxian.

Defeat the incoming enemies.

Step 3

Follow Yuan Jin'gang to higher ground.

From the vantage point, inspect all the four points.

Step 4

Defeat the enemies. Then find and rescue all three trapped people - Song Ju, Beard Guang, and Ding Si.

Then find and Rescue Ruby.

Eliminate the approaching enemies. Then take Ruby to the Sweetwine Tower.

Step 5

Help Yi Dao break the siege. Defeat the enemies.

Yi Dao will mention the witch, which is the boss Qianye (comes later).

Step 6

Urge everyone to shelter in Sweetwine Tower.

After getting everyone to the tower, fight the enemies and withstand the siege.

During the cutscene, you run towards Ruby's flag but are too late. Make your last stand against the enemies, including the Aureate Commander.

Step 7

Defeat Qianye, the boss.

Step 8

After the first phase, you'll have to fight the Qianye The Witch, her other form.

Defeating her concludes the quest, and triggers the beginning of the journey to Kaifeng.

After the quest, you journey homeward and finish the entire Heaven Has No Pier main quest.
