What to know
- FIIO launches Snow Disc, its new portable DAP, with a circular touchscreen.
- Notable changes include 2TB max storage capacity, WiFi connectivity, Bluetooth 5.4 LDAC support.
- Battery is down to 12hrs, but the form factor remains the same, as well as the price that's around $70.
At the 11th Guangzhou International Headphone Exhibition 2025, FIIO is launching its next retro-look digital audio player (DAP) - Snowsky Disc.
The Snowsky Disc is in the same family of DAPs as the Echo Mini. But there are several big changes brought to the Disc.
The most noteworthy of all is that the Snowsky Disc will have a circular 'touchscreen', ditching the physical buttons found on the company's other portable DAPs. Only the power and volume up/down buttons remain.

Real-world usage will determine how well the touchscreen functions or how fast the navigation is. However, album arts are bound to look classy on the circular display, as well as the clock.
2TB of maximum storage support is a huge blessing, especially after last year's Echo Mini that stopped at 256GB. Snowsky Disc will host dual in-built DACs (CS43131) with support to connect to external DACs.

Finally, the Snowsky Disc will have WiFi connectivity and all the OTA updates will be done through it. Along with it, the Disc also brings 5.4 LDAC Bluetooth support.

Here are all the specs for the Snowsky Disc:
- Display: Circular
- Storage: 2TB max supported
- Output: 3.5mm, 4.4mm Balanced, USB-C, SPDIF output for external DACs
- DAC: Built-in dual audio DACs with 280mW output
- Bluetooth: 5.4 LDAC Bluetooth
- Album Art display: Yes
- Battery life: 12 hours (claimed)
- Wi-Fi connectivity: Yes, with online OTA upgrades
- Price: 499 Yuan (around $70)
- Colors: Blue, Black, and Pink
The Snowsky Disc looks like a huge upgrade on most fronts. The 12-hr battery, however, does feel a step backwards. A long-term use of the device will allow a thorough assessment of the changes, especially the circular touch screen.
