What to know
- Mythical-rarity ore with an extremely high forging multiplier
- Found only in Raven Cave’s Crimson Depths
- Requires strong mining gear and quest progression
- Best used for forging, not selling
Evil Eye Ore sits at the very top of the ore hierarchy in The Forge. It’s a Mythical-tier resource valued not for special traits, but for its sheer forging power. If you’re aiming to craft late-game weapons or armor with huge stat scaling, this is one of the most impactful ores you can use.
While it technically has a sell value, Evil Eye Ore shines when used in forging, where its multiplier far outweighs the benefits of selling it for cash.

Where is the Evil Eye Ore in The Forge
Evil Eye Ore can only be obtained inside Raven Cave, specifically within the Crimson Depths section of the Frostspire Expanse. This area is locked behind progression.

You must complete the second stage of the Raven questline to unlock access to the cave. Until that requirement is met, the rocks that can drop Evil Eye simply won’t be available to you.
Rocks that can drop Evil Eye Ore
Only two rock types in the game are capable of containing Evil Eye Ore:
| Rock type | Notes |
|---|---|
| Large Red Crystals | Best overall chance to contain Evil Eye |
| Heart of the Island rock | Can drop Evil Eye but spawns less often |
Mining requirements you must meet
Before attempting to farm Evil Eye Ore, make sure your setup meets the minimum requirements.
| Requirement | Details |
|---|---|
| Pickaxe power | 650 mining power or higher |
| Area access | Raven Cave (Crimson Depths) unlocked |
| Survival prep | Potions recommended for efficiency |
If your pickaxe is below the required mining power, the rock won’t break and you won’t receive any ore.
How to farm Evil Eye Ore efficiently
Step 1: Unlock Raven Cave access
Complete the Raven questline up to its second stage so the Crimson Depths become available.

Step 2: Target Large Red Crystals only
Ignore normal rocks and focus exclusively on Large Red Crystals and the Heart of the Island when it appears.

Step 3: Check rock contents before fully breaking
Due to the extremely low drop rate, fully breaking every rock wastes time. If a rock doesn’t contain Evil Eye, partially mine it and let it respawn.

Step 4: Rotate respawns instead of brute-forcing
Move between multiple crystal spawn points, checking contents as they reset. This cycling method is far more efficient than full clears.

Step 5: Boost your luck where possible
Using luck-focused races like Dwarf or Angel, along with luck and miner potions, slightly improves your odds over long sessions.
Drop rate & farming expectations for Evil Eye ore
Evil Eye Ore has an estimated drop chance of around 1 in 33,333 from eligible rocks. This makes it one of the rarest ores in the entire game.
Because of this:
- Expect long farming sessions
- RNG will play a major role
- Efficient cycling matters more than raw mining speed
What Evil Eye Ore is used for
Forging weapons and armor
Evil Eye Ore’s ~13× multiplier makes it ideal for endgame forging. When used in recipes, it significantly boosts final weapon or armor stats, especially when paired with strong base items.
Selling (not recommended)
While it sells for a decent amount of money, the value gained from forging far exceeds the cash payout. Selling is only worth considering if you urgently need funds.
Evil Eye Ore farming
Evil Eye Ore is a long-term grind designed for dedicated endgame players in The Forge. If you’re willing to invest the time, its forging multiplier can push your gear to another level entirely. Focus on Raven Cave access, cycle Large Red Crystals efficiently, and treat every drop as a major win.
