Mysterious Key X gives access to a unique locked shack found in the Farm Town area’s third zone. Spotting a red X on the ground nearby serves as a reliable landmark and the best loot hides inside.

Mysterious Key X Location

Key spawns are random. They can appear in coats in houses, safes, and occasionally as drops from certain high-level enemies or bosses. Coats, especially near extraction routes or more dangerous regions of the map, are the most consistent sources for keys. Taking every opportunity to loot houses thoroughly increases the chances of scoring the X key.

What is the Mysterious Key X for?

The Mysterious Key X opens a red "X" marked building in Farm Town. Once you reach Farm Town, locate the red "X" symbol on your map - it should be near the Makeshift Construction site, just north of the Supermarket. This marks the building entrance.

What's inside the X-marked building?

X buildings contain J-Lab cards that unlock endgame research facilities, along with advanced weapons, rare materials, and high-value loot.

To sell or not to sell?

Black market prices for Mysterious keys are astronomical. Some players sell keys for massive profit rather than using them personally. But it's all up to you. If you like, you can sell early for equipment funding, or use endgame for J-Lab access. We recommend holding on to the key as it grants 10 uses before being consumed. Plus, the loot inside the building will generally yield much more than you can get by selling.
