A hidden code was recently discovered in the Android 7.1 Nougat source code, and since then the feature has been ported into several MODs for devices running on Android 7.1.1 developer preview or on an AOSP based custom ROM built from Android 7.1 sources.

Last week we did a post on how to enable partial screenshot on Marshmallow running devices via Android N-ify Xposed module. However, if you’re on a Android 7.1 based CM14.1 ROM (or other AOSP ROMs), you can’t install Xposed on Nougat yet.

Developer J0SH1X over at xda has shared a simple zip file to enable partial screenshot on CM14.1 and other CM based ROMs. What this zip file does is it installs a modified SystemUI app with partial screenshot feature enabled.

While the developer shared his MOD on a LG G4 forum on xda, but we tested it on our Nexus 5X, 6P and a LG G3 without any issues. The MOD enables partial screenshot on CM14.1 flawlessly.
