Geniemons serve as companions in Duet Night Abyss, aiding you with passive bonuses and active skills. Unlocking, catching, and upgrading them is central to building a strong, flexible team and optimizing your adventure. The following sections cover every practical detail you need to know.

How Geniemons work and what they are

Geniemons act as collectible pets, each granting active and passive skills when equipped to your character. Higher-rarity geniemons offer stronger effects. They come in a variety of types associated with elements or effects and can even have rare, shiny variations with distinct coloring. Each one is both a companion and a tool for strategic gameplay.

Feature Description
Acquisition methods Overworld capture, battle pass, possibly trading
Skills Each has a passive and active skill
Rarity Marked by color and icon/light in-game
Shiny types Unique coloring and visual sparkle
Upgrade options Upgrade via materials or Geniemons in the armoury

How to unlock and catch Geniemons

You unlock Geniemons by completing the quest "Go Geniemons!". This unlocks the system of collecting Geniemons. Most geniemons are caught in the overworld. When you find a Geniemon, approach it, then start the feeding mini-game.

Step 1

Approach the floating, light-marked Geniemon in the overworld.

Step 2

Press the prompt to start the feeding mini-game.

Step 3

Choose a treat to feed the Geniemon. Better treats increase your odds of a successful catch.

Step 4

In the mini-game, stop the bar at the highest-success-rate square for best results. Wait for the circle to fill. If successful, you've caught the Geniemon; otherwise, it flees.
