While it may be disappointing to a lot of us, that Samsung may not unveil the much-awaited Galaxy S III, at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, there sure seem to be a bevy of other interesting devices that Samsung seems to have in store for us — one of them being the Samsung Galaxy S Advance GT-i9070.
Despite not having been officially announced yet, one of these babies has apparently emerged somewhere in the Philippines. The device, true to it’s moniker, seems to be an ‘advanced’ version of the original Galaxy S, featuring a 1 GHz dual-core processor, a curved 4″ WVGA Super Amoled display, Samsung’s proprietary Touchwiz overlay, a 5 MP rear facing camera with flash, front-facing camera for video-calls, and a whopping 1500 mAH battery.
While it is reported that the Advance currently runs Gingerbread 2.3.6, we expect that it would receive the update to Android 4.0 or Ice Cream Sandwich soon enough, post release. Pricing and availability details are not known at this point, but we’ll be keeping this beauty on our radar, and letting you know as soon as we hear anything more.
Have a look at a couple of videos we managed to dig up, featuring the general UI, and the graphics/gaming capabilities of the Galaxy S Advance GT-i9070. Focus on the videos though, and ignore the canine special effects in the background!!
