YU has finally released the long awaited Android 5.1 update for its Yureka and Yureka Plus sets, and it’s called Cyanogen OS 12.1, often called COS 12.1, or CM12.1 in custom ROMs scene.
This is an official 5.1 Lollipop update for Yureka Plus. We have the full 5.1 update available for download below. Check this out and let us know if you need any help from us in this regard using the comments section below.
What we have here are 100% working fastboot flashable images files, that work both on Yureka and Yureka Plus flawlessly.
You do not need a recovery for this, and once your device is set to work in fastboot mode, which is easy, you can easily install COS12.1 update that comes with Android 5.1 update.

Use the Droid Info app, to determine the name of your Yureka Plus. If it is the one specified above, then it should be compatible with the 6.0 custom ROM we have here.

Backup!
Backup important files stored on your device before proceeding with the steps below, so that in case something goes wrong you’ll have backup of all your important files.
How to Install
Step 1. Download the Android 5.1 based Cyanogen OS 12.1 update from above.
Step 2. Now extract the downloaded zip file using a free software like 7-zip. You must get all these files.
You must be having the above files in the folder called yuplus51, okay.
Step 3. Install ADB and fastboot drivers. Also install Yureka Plus drivers.
Step 4. Boot your Yureka Plus into bootloader mode. If you are rooted, you can use Quick Boot app from play store. To manually boot into bootloader mode, do this:
- Power off the device. Wait for 4-5 seconds after screen goes off.
- Press and hold Volume Up button and then connect the device to PC using USB cable. You will enter bootloader mode, also called fastboot mode.
Step 5. Now simply run the flash.bat file which automatically flash COS12.1 images to your Yurkea Plus. Double click the flash.bat file to run it.
This will open up a command window, and installation of Android 5.1 update on your Yureka Plus will begin.
The procedure will be complete in some 5-6 minutes, after which it will reboot your device automatically.
That’s it.
To manually reboot, simply open a command window and enter the command given below.
fastboot -i 0x1ebf reboot
