While all Xiaomi fans are waiting for Android 7.0 Nougat-based MIUI 8 update to hit their devices, the company has silently released the stable version of MIUI 8.1 (based on Marshmallow) for its Redmi Note 4. Do make a note that the update is for the Redmi Note 4 Qualcomm variant only.
Xiaomi, as always, announced the news on its official MIUI forum. The update brings along several improvements in the form of optimizations such as the improved auto-brightness mode.
Last month, the Chinese vendor rolled out the MIUI 8.2 Global Stable ROM to select devices which include Mi Max, Mi Max Prime, Mi 4i, Mi 4, Mi 3, Mi Note, Redmi 1S, and the Redmi Note 4G.
The MIUI 8.2 update had a few neat additions along with bug fixes and performance improvements, of course. Some of the new features include a new layout for the quick toggles in the notifications shade, new automation tasks, and the inclusion of Home screen settings option in the Settings menu. There’s also another feature which performs an antivirus scan on all the apps that are installed from sources other than Google Play Store.
