After 5 years of its launch, the original Galaxy Note N7000 still seems to be kicking, all thanks to the folks over at xda and other Android communities for supporting the device through all these years.
Samsung dropped support for Galaxy Note N7000 a long time ago (from Android 4.1.2 JellyBean). And since then, the device has been breathing life from AOSP based builds of latest Android updates by third-party developers.
Android Nougat update, which is the 2016 version of Android, has just been ported over to the original Galaxy Note N7000 via an AOSP based unofficial build of CM14. All thanks to dev bauner over at xda forums.
Since this is the first release of Android 7.0 Nougat based CM14 ROM for Galaxy Note N7000, it has serious bugs/issues that are not suitable to be your daily driver. For now, the ROM only boots Android Nougat on your Note N7000 so that you can have a taste of it.
We hope the developer is able to fix issues with CM14 ROM for Note N7000 very soon and get us a build suitable for everyday use.
You can grab the beta build of Nougat based CM14 ROM for Galaxy Note N7000 from the download link below and simply install/flash it via TWRP recovery like you’d flash any other custom ROM on the device. Also, since this is an AOSP based ROM, you will have to flash/install a Nougat supported Gapps package separately via TWRP to get Google services like Play Store on your device.
