The Motorola Moto X Play may or may not get the Android 7.0 Nougat update officially. But if you’re someone like us, you might already be looking for unofficial ways to get the latest and greatest of Android running on your device.

Thanks to the folks over team AICP, you can now install the latest Android release (version 7.1) that’s currently out as a developer preview for selected Google devices to your Moto X Play using the AICP 12.1 ROM.

AICP 12.1 is an Android 7.1 Nougat based AOSP ROM developed and maintained by AICP — Android Ice Cold Project.

This is an official release of AICP 12.1 for Moto X Play but it’s perfect yet. Check all details about the ROM below, along with downloads and installation instructions.
