[Download] Moto G4 Plus OTA update brings fix for BlueBorne vulnerability with September security patch

The Motorola Moto G4 Plus is now receiving an OTA update with September security patch, and with it the device is also getting the much awaited patch for the BlueBorne vulnerability. The update is 35.4MB in size and comes with software version NPJS25.93-14-10.

This is a critical update and we recommend you to install it as soon as you can. BlueBorne vulnerability is a recently discovered high risk security threat for all modern devices with Bluetooth connectivity. Apparently, with the BlueBorne attack, a hacker can easily gain full access to your smartphone just by getting in range of your Bluetooth. The hacker wouldn’t even require a paired Bluetooth connection with your Android phone.

The update is currently rolling out to folks in Latin America. But you can force check for it on your Moto G4 Plus as well by going to device Settings » About phone » System updates section. In most cases, you shall get the update ready to be downloaded, however if it fails to find an update, just grab the OTA update zip from the download link below and install/flash it manually from your device’s stock recovery.
