Samsung has begun rollout of the Galaxy A8 Marshmallow update in India. The first model to get the update is SM-A800F, which is receiving the said update as build A800FXXU1BPF5.

The PF5 Marshmallow update has been confirmed by several users, but at the moment it’s not available for download and installation via Odin.

Full changelog for the Android 6.0 update isn’t available right now, but looking at the screenshots, we can say it does have lots of items on the list.

We’re looking at the new TouchWiz, Quick connect, securely protected fingerprints, advanced power saving mode, new vibration pattern, reshuffle of some settings items, etc.

Because Marshmallow doesn’t support decryption, you have to disable encryption beforehand while on Lollipop to keep the device decrypted on Marshmallow. Go to Settings > Lock screen settings for this. You may need to update Samsung apps after updating to Marshmallow as they won’t work properly — just go to play store or Samsung store for that.
