The LG G3S, or LG Beat, was launched back in July 2014. Although the device is yet to become 2 years old, we don’t have any expectations of LG releasing Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for the device.

With 1GB RAM, LG G3 Beat isn’t exactly fit-enough specs-wise to run Marshmallow update. Although requirement for Marshmallow update is not given, but it can taken as 1GB, which is required for Lollipop, given that there are not any major revamp in UI is Marshmallow.

Marshmallow coupled with LG’s custom skin seems next to impossible for LG G3 beat.

Which is why we need lightweight custom ROMs based on AOSP code, boasting pure Android UI.

And we have some nice ones to share with you. To update your LG G3 Beat or G3S to Marshmallow, you can install any of the Marshmallow custom ROMs we have provided downloads of below.

With these ROMs, you get to use pure Android UI, which is far better to use than LG’s UI, and is also very, very pleasing than the latter.

Right now though, only CyanogenMod 13 is available, also called CM13 in short. With LG G3 Beat CM13, you get stock UI and cool new feature set added atop Marshmallow.

LG G3 G3S CM13 also brings you themes option, and many simple and practical features.

On LG G3 Beat Marshmallow update provided below, you will also get Doze mode from Android 6.0, that betters the battery life by good measure — around 20% if we are to throw estimate.

Doze mode completely hibernates the less used apps to prevent them from running in background, something which saves battery and improves performance as more RAM is freed up. This is pretty good feature for a 1GB RAM toting device like LG G3S/Beat.

Other new features you could expect on LG G3S Marshmallow update is greater control over which app uses how much data and how, and also which app uses what permission, with an option to allow it or disallow it.

You also get Now On Tap feature in Android 6.0, a cool addition to Google Now that when called into action, picks up data from the current screen and throws in suggestions based on that.

Needed? You are gonna need a custom recovery for installing the ROM. Look for TWRP recovery for your device, it must support the model no. of your device.
