The second iteration of the Galaxy Ring was rumoured to release with the Galaxy S25 series in February this year. With the ongoing delay, there are reports that the company will not be releasing it anytime soon.

Samsung released the first Galaxy Ring a year ago in 2024. It is not common for the company to wait for more than a year to launch a new version of its devices. This may be a sign that the work is still on, with rumours circulating of a new Galaxy Ring.

As per the Korea JooAng Daily, Samsung is not planning to release the Galaxy Ring 2 in February of 2026 either. It is to note that the Galaxy S26 series is touted to be announced in February next year.

This news came when Samsung reportedly launched a countersuit against Oura for patent infringement. Oura previously sought a sales ban against Samsung through a lawsuit due to devices form factor.

Companies like Oura have established a strong foothold in the smart ring market, with Samsung entering the space a bit later. With all the hype, the Galaxy Ring 1 did not turn out to be a game-changer. It was plagued with other sparse issues. The sales of Samsung's own Galaxy Watch have also affected the smart ring sales, with more people preferring the watch.

No solid confirmation or news is available regarding the release of Galaxy Ring 2 by Samsung. With the recent release of Galaxy TriFold and the upcoming S26 series launch, the company seems to focus on smarthphones launches currently.
