What is Discovery Plus?

Discovery Plus is a new streaming platform by Discovery with content from all of its networks launched within the past few decades. Discovery Plus boasts the largest digital content library of any platform to date, boasting around 55,000 shows in over 25 different countries.

Not only this, but the platform has also launched with Discovery exclusives by associated networks like Magnolia, HGTV, TLC, DIY, and more. These exclusives can be accessed through Discovery Plus’s premium membership that comes in two packages; ad-supported and ad-free.

The ad-supported package allows you to access all the exclusive content albeit with some ads during your watch sessions. These ads help support the network and justify the cheaper price of this plan. The ad-free experience on the other hand will give you access to the entire content library completely ad-free.

Is Discovery Plus on Verizon?

No, Discovery Plus is not on Verizon per se, but it is available for free to select Verizon users with an unlimited wireless plan. The offer allows you to avail of a year’s Discovery Plus subscription absolutely for free.

This subscription is billed via Verizon and once the promotional period of 1 year/6 month comes to an end, you will be charged $6.99/month on your Verizon plan. This auto-renewal can be canceled anytime through the app itself.

Additionally, if you are a user in New Mexico, your plan will not be auto-renewed. Once the offer period comes to an end, you can re-enroll for the membership via Verizon to continue your Discovery Plus membership.

There is no dedicated Discovery Plus Channel on Verizon or with any other cable provider. Discovery Plus is a streaming platform that can be accessed through only web-based utilities. How to get Discovery Plus for free on Verizon

You need to first avail the Verizon offer on your Discovery Plus account to activate your free subscription. Once activated, you can then install Discovery Plus on a compatible platform and access your entire content library. Let’s take a quick look at the procedure.

How to avail the free Verizon offer

Guide

Open the My Verizon Webapp or mobile app and login with your Verizon account credentials. Now access the ‘Add ons’ section. If you are on the web app, click on ‘Account’ at the top of your screen and then select ‘Add ons and Apps Overview’. If you are on the mobile app, tap on ‘Plans & Devices’ and then select ‘Explore Add ons’.

Now simply choose your Discovery Plus offer on this page and then click on ‘Get It Now’. You will now be asked to link a valid email ID to be associated with this offer/subscription. Ensure that you use a valid email ID as you will be using the same ID to sign up to Discovery Plus.

Click on ‘Check Email’ at the bottom once you are done. This will prompt Verizon to verify the email ID with its Discovery Plus database. In case the email ID already has a Discovery Plus account associated with it, you will need to use a different email ID.

You will now be shown the terms and conditions for the Discovery Plus offer by Verizon. Click on ‘Enroll in the Discovery Plus Bundle’ to continue with the setup.

Your setup with Verizon is now complete. Click on ‘Go to Discovery Plus’. This will redirect you to the Disocvery Plus homepage. If you are on a mobile device, you will be prompted to download the Discovery Plus app.

Now choose log in on the Discovery Plus homepage. Login with the email ID we just used to avail the offer through Verizon. You will now be asked to enter a new password for your account. Chose your new password and click on ‘Continue’ once you are done.

And that’s it! You should now be logged in to Discovery Plus and have access to their entire content library. Your subscription will be managed through Verizon once your promotional period comes to an end.

Note: Your offer subscription will start as soon as you accept Verizon’s terms and conditions. Even if you do not setup your Discovery Plus account after this step, your offer period will still continue.
