The last time we heard about Android activations, some half-million new android devices were hitting the activation charts at Googleplex on a daily basis. And Google’s Android man Andy Rubin also told us that even this milestone-figure is seeing a growth of 4% week by week. No surprise then when we heard the about the latest figures about the android activations from the Google’s co-founder Larry Page, who revealed that the total umber of android activations per day have crossed 550,000 devices per day now. That’s cool, something you always want to hear about and then decisively feel good about, right?
Translating these figures in monthly, half-yearly and annual terms, what we get is around 16.5 mil, 100 mil and 200 mil android activations — and that is without considering the very impressive growth rate of w/w 4%.
Speaking of numbers, Mr. Page also talked about Google’s earnings this quarter (i.e. Q2) and they are remarkable as well. While Google’s Net Income rose to $2.51 billion (in contrast to $1.84 Q2 last year), the Revenue was soared to $9.02 billion.
