What to know

  • Storage now expands up to 1000 slots through camp upgrades.
  • New movement controls and combat responsiveness improvements added.
  • Multiple quest blockers and progression bugs fixed.
  • This patch adds the Headgear Visibility option as well.

Crimson Desert Patch 1.02.00 is now live across most platforms, delivering one of the most meaningful post-launch updates so far. Instead of focusing on new story content, this patch prioritizes improving how the game feels, plays, and progresses.

You will notice the biggest impact in long-term progression systems. The update significantly expands private storage, allowing you to scale from 240 slots up to 1000 slots through Greymane camp upgrades. This change directly supports extended play sessions and inventory-heavy progression.

The Abyss system also receives meaningful updates. A new Abyss Nexus has been added in Pailune, and existing systems are now more responsive and flexible. You can interact with certain mechanics more smoothly, reducing friction during exploration and traversal.

Movement and combat see some of the most noticeable improvements. A new Movement Controls option lets you choose between Basic and Classic input styles, giving you better control over sprinting behavior and stamina usage. Alongside this, jump responsiveness, flight activation, and combat flow have been refined to feel more consistent.

You will also experience improved combat reliability. Boss behavior has been adjusted to prevent excessive teleporting, parry mechanics have been fixed, and mount abilities now behave correctly. These updates make encounters more predictable and less frustrating.

The update also improves usability across the board. UI changes make item usage more intuitive, shop interactions clearer, and save/load systems more organized. Combined with fixes for unresponsive menus and crashes, the overall experience feels more stable. Here’s a clear breakdown of the quest-related bugs fixed in Patch 1.02.00:

Quest / ChapterIssueFix Impact
Chapter 6Progression could break after defeating a boss following a save/load under certain conditionsYou can now continue the story normally without getting stuck after boss fights
“A Rumor Fueled by Greed”Progression failed if a required item was sold before starting the questYou can now proceed even if the item was previously sold
Chapter 11“Inserted Key” could disappear from inventory, blocking progressThe key no longer disappears, ensuring quest completion is possible

On the technical side, graphics and performance continue to improve. Upscaling technologies like FSR and DLSS have been refined, platform-specific enhancements have been added, and multiple rendering issues have been resolved. Stability fixes across PC, console, and Mac further reduce crashes and performance inconsistencies.
