Cricket has announced a new low-end ZTE smartphone, the ZTE Groove, which will be available through the carrier’s online and local stores starting today, for an off-contract price of $129.

The specs of the Groove are nothing to get excited about and are literally ancient, including the now old but still going strong Android 2.3 Gingerbread. The processor is a single-core 800 MHz chipset, while the display is 3.5-inches in size with a low resolution of 320 x 480 pixels.

There’s also a 3.2 megapixel rear camera with flash, 0.3 megapixel front-facing camera, Wi-Fi, GPS, HSPA, microSD card slot with support for 32GB cards, and a respectable 1500 mAh battery. You also get Cricket’s Muve unlimited music service with the device, which is a given with basically any phone sold by the carrier.

With the specs that the ZTE Groove sports, it’s not going to win any awards in the desirable smartphones category, but at $129, it’s not bad either. Hit the source link to order the ZTE Groove from Cricket.
