What to know
- Google is rolling out Song Search history for Circle to Search on Android devices.
- The feature lets you view and revisit songs you've previously identified using Circle to Search.
- Song Search history is accessible via Google Assistant's settings under the "You" tab.
- The rollout appears to be server-side and is not yet available to all users.
Google is expanding the capabilities of Circle to Search on Android by introducing a new Song Search history feature. This update allows you to keep track of all the songs you've identified using the Circle to Search tool, making it easier to revisit tracks you've discovered on the go.
With this new addition, whenever you use Circle to Search to identify a song playing around you, the details of that song are now saved in a dedicated Song Search history. You can access this history by opening Google Assistant, tapping your profile image, and navigating to the "You" tab. There, you'll find a new "Song Search" section that lists all your previously identified tracks.
This feature is particularly useful if you often use Circle to Search to find out what music is playing but forget to save or note the song at the time. Now, you can simply return to your Song Search history and find the track again without having to repeat the search.
The rollout of Song Search history appears to be happening on the server side, meaning you might not see it immediately even if your device is up to date. Some users have already reported seeing the feature live, while others may need to wait a bit longer for it to appear. There is no manual update required; the feature will show up automatically once it's enabled for your account.
Circle to Search itself is a relatively new feature on Android, allowing you to search for information on your screen by simply circling, highlighting, or tapping items. The integration of Song Search history further enhances its utility, especially for music lovers who frequently use their phones to identify songs.
At this time, Google has not provided an official timeline for when Song Search history will be available to all users. If you don't see it yet, keep an eye on your Google Assistant settings in the coming days and weeks.
