That’s not all — it’s also the first android tablet to come with Ice Cream Sandwich pre-installed. And no, while Transformer Prime is the first quad-core tablet, it isn’t the first one to come with Android 4.0 — although it was rumored to be delayed so that it could launch with Ice Cream Sandwich instead of Honeycomb.

Anyway, this new 7-inch tablet is from MIPS technologies, who will also release the bigger 8-inch and 9-inch versions too of the tablet shortly. Of course, that’s gonna cost a few bucks more, that 7 incher’s $99 price point.

Specifications

The MIPS 7-inch tablet packs in 1GHz MIPS’ proprietary processor but at $99, it isn’t bad at all. Other than that, WiFi, USB, micro SD card slot and even HDMI make the specification list, as also the front and back camera (megapixels or type not specified).

Release Date

The MIPS 7-inch Tablet has already been released in China, selling online through Ainol Electronics. There are plans to launch MIPS 7-inch tablet in US and other major markets too within few months.
