What to know
- ARC Raiders has no built-in “Appear Offline” or invisible status
- Platform offline modes don’t fully hide your in-game presence
- Friends can still see you as active and send invites
- No confirmed plans for an official offline option yet
At the moment, ARC Raiders does not support a true “appear offline” feature. If you’re logged into the game and connected to its servers, you’re treated as online—there’s no toggle to mask your presence from friends.
This applies regardless of whether you’re playing casually, testing builds, or just want uninterrupted solo time. The game’s social layer operates independently of most platform-level status settings.
Why platform offline modes don’t fully work
You might expect setting your Steam or console status to Offline or Invisible to solve the issue. In practice, it only reduces platform notifications. ARC Raiders still detects you as active once you’re connected to its servers, which means:
- Friends may still see you as online in-game
- Invites can still come through
- Your presence isn’t truly hidden
In short, platform settings don’t override the game’s own presence system.
What is currently true about ARC Raiders’ social system
- There is no internal status control for visibility
- Being logged in equals being online
- You can’t selectively appear offline to certain friends
- The game doesn’t offer a “private presence” mode
If you’re hoping for a stealthy solo session, the game doesn’t yet accommodate that preference directly.
How players minimize social interruptions right now
While there’s no official solution, players often rely on a few practical workarounds to reduce interruptions.
Use solo-friendly queues when available
Queue into modes that don’t automatically group you with friends or squads. While visibility remains, interaction is limited.
Adjust platform notification settings
Muting or limiting notifications at the Steam or console level helps reduce pop-ups, even if it doesn’t hide your presence.
Communicate intent ahead of time
Letting friends know you’re playing solo or testing content can prevent repeated invites during your session.
Ignore or decline invites quietly
Not ideal, but currently the only in-game option once invites appear.
Has an offline or private mode been discussed?
Community feedback has repeatedly asked for an offline, invisible, or private status option. While developers are aware of these requests, no official confirmation or roadmap placement exists as of now.
That means any future change would come through a patch or seasonal update—but there’s nothing announced or hinted at yet.
What this means for solo-focused players
If you prefer playing without social pressure, ARC Raiders currently makes that difficult. The always-online design keeps social visibility active, even when you’re aiming for a low-key session.
Until new features arrive, managing expectations and notifications is the best available approach.
