What to know
- Patch fixes animation, audio, collision, and GPU crashes on PC.
- Gilded Glory Pack loot now appears only as intended, with claim bugs fixed.
- Weekly boss fights and wildcard missions rotate for more endgame variety.
- Additional bug fixes and improvements are coming to consoles soon.
Here’s what’s changed with the new Borderlands 4 patch. Gearbox released an update aimed at fixing some big stability problems on PC, as well as a few smaller annoyances that players have been dealing with.
PC Stability Fixes
Here’s the thing: a lot of people were running into crashes—stuff related to character animations, certain sounds, odd collision bugs, and random GPU hiccups. The new patch is supposed to fix these. That means the game should run a lot smoother and crash less often now, at least on PC.
Gilded Glory Pack Updates
The Gilded Glory Pack is a preorder bonus with four legendary weapons and a cosmetic. Some players said that the gear from this pack was popping up in normal loot chests when it wasn’t supposed to. That’s fixed. Also, there were cases where players trying to claim their Gilded Glory gear in the Reward Center found that it stopped working—this should be sorted now. And if you saw a message about not owning DLC gear when you definitely do, that’s being corrected as well, but it’s coming to console a bit later.
Weekly Endgame Changes
There’s also a rotation of weekly content:
- Weekly Big Encore Boss: each week, there’s a tougher boss with better loot.
- Weekly Wildcard Missions: these mix up the traits on a mission and guarantee a Legendary drop, so players can farm for that perfect weapon.
- Maurice’s Black Market Vending Machine: changes location each week and carries different items for everyone, so asking other players what’s available in their world might get you something special.
Other Bug Fixes
The patch took care of a mission blocker where, during "Talk to Zadra," the game could hang if players quit mid-dialogue. That’s done. There's also a fix to the annoying “doesn’t own DLC” warning showing up on stuff that’s not DLC, which was confusing a lot of people.
What To Expect
If you were having trouble with crashes or any of the above issues, try the update now. Gearbox says more fixes for consoles are coming soon. And if you’re one of the folks who preordered, claiming your Gilded Glory loot should finally work as intended.
Borderlands 4 is available on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and hits Nintendo Switch 2 on October 3. Keep an eye out for those weekly content changes—they’re a big part of the endgame loop now.
