BlackBerry KEYone now available in UK

You can now purchase the BlackBerry KEYone smartphone from the UK retailer Selfridges. The smartphone was supposed to be available in the month of May, but it looks like shipments have arrived earlier.

If you’re in the UK, and close to the Selfridges store in Oxford Street, London, you can get your hands on the KEYone right away. The phone will cost you £499, and it is only available in limited quantities right now. Earlier this month, another UK retailer Clove had revealed the pricing of the smartphone.

BlackBerry will also be selling the KEYone via Carphone Warehouse in the UK, starting from May 5th. The handset will be available in the United States on May 31st and Canadians will be able to pre-order one starting May 18.

The BlackBerry KEYone is the latest smartphone coming from the company. It features a 4.5-inch display, as well as a full physical keyboard. The phone is powered by a Snapdragon 625 processor that’s coupled with 3GB of RAM. There’s a 12MP camera at the back, an 8MP front shooter, a 3505mAh battery, and Android 7.1.1 Nougat on board.

  1. Ah, still remember those days when everyone asks for your BBM pin lol good ol’ times :’) I’m glad they’re coming back with a newer look. I also love the fact that they didn’t get rid of the keyboard. It make things more nostalgic.

    1. True, BlackBerry had that executive feel to it and at one point of time everyone just wanted to have ,like how people want the iPhones now .They’ve really adapted to the trend but still have put their own twist ;D What’s more interesting is the fingerprint is integrated into the spacebar 😀

    2. So true. They did a really good job on keeping their own identity while adapting to a newer surrounding. Oh yes, the fingerprint placement is a pretty good idea and unique! Props to them. 😉

    3. Really want them to make a comeback this year ,with so many phones out there in the market and their having quite a reputation(although got pretty damaged these past few years) they could directly shoot to the top-end flagship segment easily (with really great specs I.E) but that takes careful planning.

    4. They should probably loosen up their target market. It’s too tight now focusing only on a narrow set of individuals.
Offering more for the prices they charge and appealing a little bit more to the conventional market will surely help. They have the brand value and they can use that.

    5. Agree. It’s very tight now. The market right now is full of competition with companies fighting over technology advancement of their latest phones. If they ever wanted to step up their game, they should focus more on marketing. As Ashwin said, they have the brand value so if they work properly on marketing, I think this would be big.

    6. You’re right ,back then rhey only focused on the business sector and hit it right as most people in that segment only would buy such phones and they still seem to be trying to do the same with the keyone ,what i so appreciate ia how they added their own flavour to it.As much as I like it ,it would’ve been better if they provided a snap-on keypad they would give some flexibility to the users, they should try to reduce the pricing too to seem more attractive:)

    7. Yeah. BBs used to be exclusively for mails and phone calls. And the legendary BB messenger of course. Now the world has changed and BB has got to adapt better.

    8. Agreed Alif. 🙂
They have to catch up and realize that they aren’t the only player around like they used to be. The brand name Blackberry has a lot of class and premium feel. If they market it right, people will fall for them

  2. device is great with all thee good specs and Blackberry design but the price is too high for it, 500$ is too much to ask for a device with SD625 no matter how u look at it, and Blackberry is no more a leading smartphone brand to ask that much money for it, a price of 300-350$ would have been better for it!!

  3. I really like the keypad on the screen, something really different from the usual phones I’ve seen. The location of the finger print scanner(Space bar) is what amazes me the most.Obviously this comes with great build quality which blackberry is known for.Camera seems decent and battery is good but the processor is a bit old :/

  4. This takes me down the memory lane, I really like this design more than the sliding keyboard that was with priv. Blackberry as a brand, made it’s name due to their qwerty keyboard and intuitive apps. The price is perfect too, blackberry usually targets professionals more, and I can pretty much see this device selling well. Regarding the specs, it might not be the top of the line, but people who generally buy Blackberry, most of them do not see it as a possible pc replacement. 🙂

    1. You are right. It is not for everyone.

  6. I had one a couple of years ago. Lack of android seemed frustrating to me.

  11. I like that BB’s trying to bring keyboards back. Lots of people will like that and definitely a must buy for BB fans out there. I used to love their keyboards, made typing a breeze. This ones a bit economical too 🙂
