Getting Bixby on its flagship phones Galaxy S8 and S8+ has been a masterstroke from Samsung. So much has been said, written and discussed about it that the mere mention of the moniker Bixby is a self-sufficient description in itself. So, without further jamming, let’s get to the point. Here we will discuss about all the apps supported by Bixby, which amounts to more than a dozen.
At the time of launch of Galaxy S8 and S8+, Samsung did show all the Bixby supported apps viz Camera, Calendar, Gallery, Settings and Message and Google Music. Only that, these all are native apps, with the exception of Google Music.
Now, we all know that the full utility of an AI is reflected on its successful support of third-party apps, which made us wonder at the time of S8 launch where does Bixby stand.
Clearing our doubts, Samsung in a press briefing in Canada recently showed all third-party apps that Bixby supports. Here’s a list of all the 20 apps supported by Bixby, includig third-party apps.
- Foursquare
- Gallery
- Reminder
- Samsung Health
- Samsung Internet
- Samsung Music
- Samsung Themes
- Uber
- Video

Out of these 20 apps, 12 are native Samsung apps while the third-party apps comprise CNN, Facebook, Foursquare, LinkedIn, Twitter, Uber and YouTube.
Bixby has a dedicated button located on the left side of the device, below the volume rocker key, which is a first for an AI.
Another unique feature is that it responds to voice, touch, as well as text. Its Bixby Vision totally stumped us, with which the camera can be used to visually search for a product, identify a landmark or translate text.
