Beauty and the Blade Encounter Walkthrough - Where Winds Meet

In Where Winds Meet, the 'Beauty and the Blade' encounter is a side quest set in Qinghe region. The quest puts a modern spin on an age-old tale and involves fighting with bears, playing music, and a bit of meditation. It also has a requirement to fulfil before you can begin. Here's how to go about it:

Location and How to Start

Before you can start the 'Beauty and the Blade' encounter, you must have completed the Bloomveil Monastery Outpost.

The encounter takes place in the Blissful Retreat area in Qinghe region. The nearest waypoint is Blissful Retreat.

From the waypoint, make your way to the bamboo gate. As soon as you approach it, the encounter will begin.

Walkthrough

Step 1

Once the encounter is made available, you can track it from the journal.

Step 2

Go and join the crowd.

Step 3

Go to the servant and accept the bounty.

Step 4

You will be asked to go through three trials. To start, go to the location on the map.

The nearest waypoint to this is Brewery Backyard.

Step 5

At the location, talk to Zhao Family's Servant.

Step 6

Fight the bear and obtain its fur.

Step 7

Give the fur to the family servant.

Step 8

Follow the quest marker, find the second trial servant, and talk to him.

Step 9

This next trial requires you to play a tune using the Guqin.

Step 10

Once you've passed the test, make your way to the final trial.

Step 11

Find the footboy at the winery and tell him - Though far, not far; though empty, not empty.

Step 12

Next, go to the eastern rooftop of Heaven's Pier and meditate (wait).

Step 13

After you spend a whole day waiting, return to the foot boy. He'll tell you to go to the western rooftop and do the same.

Step 14

Return to the page boy and eavesdrop on him.

Then confront the two men.

Step 15

After the conversation, you'll be taken to meet Lady Zhao.

Lady Zhao will disguise you as herself and leave you with the ruffians.

Step 16

After Lady Zhao rescues you, talk to her.
