Battlefield 6 Season 1 trailer is now out, giving us a peek at what to expect from Season 1, arriving on 28th October. This season aims to keep the gameplay dynamic with a phased rollout of new maps, weapons, modes, and cosmetics across three stages through December 9. Here's every explosive detail you need to know before the season commences.

Season 1 Maps: Blackwell Fields and Eastwood

Blackwell Fields is a large-scale map set on an oil field and air base in California, featuring open terrain conducive to vehicle combat including helicopters, planes, and tanks. The map’s environment includes burning horizons and oil wells, adding dramatic visual and gameplay elements.

Eastwood represents a suburban California villa and golf retreat, turning usually peaceful locales into a frontline battleground. It encourages mixed combat styles with significant use of land vehicles and helicopters. A unique addition is the drivable golf carts players can use across the golf course and residential areas.

New game modes introduced

Season 1 introduces two new multiplayer modes:

  • Strikepoint: A 4v4 tactical round-based mode focusing on single-life rounds and control-point domination, emphasizing strategic, close-quarters combat.
  • Sabotage: An 8v8 limited-time objective mode where teams alternate attacking and defending key sites with a focus on timed destruction or protection.

New weapons and equipment added in Season 1

Season 1 adds new firearms to Battlefield 6’s arsenal, predominantly during the Rogue Ops phase:

  • SOR-300SC carbine: A slow-firing, powerful mid-range weapon rewarding precision and recoil mastery.
  • Mini Scout sniper rifle: A fast bolt-action sniper with high speed and effectiveness, expected to shape the meta.
  • GGH-22 pistol: A rapid-fire secondary weapon balancing speed and reliability.

Attachments include the rail cover and LPVO sight, offering players more customization options. Later phases will introduce additional weapons such as a shotgun, revolver, and a melee Ice Climbing Axe.

Phased rollout and thematic content

Season 1 unfolds in three phases:

  • Rogue Ops (Oct 28): Introduces Blackwell Fields map, Strikepoint mode, new weapons, and the Traverser Mark 2 vehicle.
  • California Resistance (Nov 18): Drops the Eastwood map, Sabotage mode, and more weapons.
  • Winter Offensive (Dec 9): Transforms the Empire State map with a winter theme, adds the Ice Climbing Axe melee weapon, and introduces a “Freeze” mechanic for unique match effects.

The structured approach encourages player engagement over several months with a battle pass offering four progression paths catering to player preferences.

With the first season launching October 28, Battlefield 6 is entering a strong live-service phase. Players can expect more maps, features, and events at a steady pace — without dividing the community through paid DLC. The roadmap shows that DICE is aiming for stability, content depth, and player retention.
