The Battlecrest Slope Gift of Gab is a part of the Silver Tongue quest in Where Winds Meet. It introduces you to the Gift of Gab mechanic through a strategic rhetoric duel. You'll meet Song Jiu, follow him to the duel site, and engage in a verbal battle against He Wanchun, using dialogue cards to outwit your opponent and reduce their mental focus to zero.

Location

Start the Gift of Gab by speaking with He Wanchun, who’s standing on a rock in Battlecrest Slope, and invite him to a rhetoric duel.

Walkthrough

Follow these steps to successfully defeat He Wanchun in the Gift of Gab showdown:

Step 1

Speak with He Wanchun in Battlecrest Slope and invite him to a rhetoric duel to begin the Gift of Gab.

Step 2

Each time you play a card, it consumes Inspiration. The amount required is shown in the top-left corner of the card while your total Inspiration is shown in the bottom-right corner of the screen.

Step 3

Each card deals damage to your He Wanchun’s Mental Focus, which is displayed at the top-center of the screen as a Focus Bar.

Step 4

You can press Rebut to counter the He Wanchun’s card, triggering a Rebuttal that deals 150% damage along with additional status effects. You’ll also be given three Rebuttal options to choose from. Press RT to Rebut on controller, or Alt if you’re using a keyboard.

Step 5

Once you deplete He Wanchun’s Mental Focus bar, you’ll win the Gift of Gab debate.
