Back in early October, AT&T had officially announced in a press release that they would be the first to launch the Samsung Galaxy Camera in the U.S. and that the camera will fully support its 4G network. AT&T would have been gambling on the aspect that there would be a segment of customers who would we willing to go for a smart camera with inbuilt mobile data connectivity other than WiFi.

At the time, and subsequently after the official announcement, AT&T kept mum about the pricing for the 16 MP, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean powered snapper. Earlier today, AT&T has gone on record and announced that the 4G connected Samsung Galaxy Camera will be available for customers come November 16th, for $499. Pretty steep pricing, but given what it has under the hood, it is still good value. AT&T has also floated a limited time offer, which gives customers upto $100 off if they purchase a Samsung handset with two-year agreement, along with the Galaxy Camera.

A quick recap of the standout specs:

  • Quad-core 1.4 GHz processor
  • Access to AT&T Locker – Cloud based service to store media captured by the camera
