AT&T has just begun rolling out the Android 5.1.1 update to its Galaxy S6 edge variant G925A, but folks among us who are rooted and wish to keep things rooted once on 5.1.1 as well, they need to wait for a root-safe way to update to 5.1.1.
Chances are most of you are still running a AT&T S6 Edge rooted with the help of Ping Pong Root. Unfortunately, it won’t work on the newer firmware builds. But that doesn’t mean you won’t have root on AT&T S6 Edge 5.1.1 update.
We have good faith in the holy folks over at xda who might find a way to update AT&T S6 Edge to 5.1.1 G925AUCU3BOI2 firmware in a way that can keep root access safe.
But you need to have patience. Hold your tempt for installing the 5.1.1 OTA until someone knowledgeable finds a root-safe way to update AT&T S6 Edge to 5.1.1.
Also, FYI, the Verizon S6 and S6 Edge 5.1.1 is still not rooted, and it has been over 60 days since the update rolled out.
We hope AT&T S6 Edge 5.1.1 gets root access soon. We’ll update this post once a working root method is available for the device. You may want to bookmark this page.
