AT&T has released security patches for four devices, one from LG and three from Samsung. The four devices are LG G5, Samsung Galaxy Note 4, Note Edge and Galaxy Express Prime.

While LG G5 is on Android Nougat 7.0, sadly, the other three devices are still on Android Marshmallow. On the brighter side, while Samsung devices are receiving the latest July security patch, the LG G5 will get the June patch.

The details of the updates are given below:

  • LG G5 – H82020o – June Security patch – 109MB
  • Samsung Galaxy Note 4 – N910AUCS2EQF1 – July Security patch – 29MB
  • Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Edge – N915AUCS2EQF1 – July security patch – 29MB
  • Samsung Express Prime – J320AUCS3AQG1 – July security patch – 26MB

As is the case with any security patch, the update takes care of various security vulnerabilities and brings along fixes to existing bugs. You can also expect performance and stability improvements from the update.

It is advisable to keep your handset charged as high as 50 percent while installing the update. If you haven’t received the update yet, you can check for it manually via the device settings. Go to Settings – About – Software updates.
