Carriers are often accused of delaying the release of software updates and the latest from AT&T adds more weight to these accusations. The carrier is rolling out new updates to the Moto Z2 Force, LG V35, and LG K20, but not necessarily the latest versions available.
The Moto Z2 Force is receiving an update that installs February 2019 security patches. The OTA is arriving as version OCXS27.109-47-23 and weighs 91.8MB. Although the latest security patch level available for the Z2 Force, it’s not the latest Google has to date. The device is also expected to be updated to Android 9 Pie, but we don’t know when.
Elsewhere, the LG V35 ThinQ has been updated to Android 9 Pie, but on AT&T, the best you can get is the latest April 2019 security patch. The software version is V350AWM12k and weighs 148MB.
On the other hand, it’s great to see a new update for the budget LG K20 that installs April 2019 security patches as well. The update weighs 115MB and bumps up the software version to M25520f, which is based on Android Oreo, just like others in this post.
The updates were published earlier this week so you should have received the download notification by now. You may also check for the update via the Settings menu of your phone and update manually, but make sure you have a stable internet connection.
