A new update has been recently released for the AT&T Motorola Moto Z2 Force Edition(XT1789). This is a pretty important software update, as it includes a fix for the Blueborne bluetooth exploit. The update is available as an OTA, so if you’ve got the notification, we recommend you install it right away.
The build number of this update is NCX26.122-59-8-6 and it is based on Android 7.1.1 Nougat. As per the changelog, the update will install the September Android security patch and also fix the Blueborne vulnerability.
What is Blueborne? Well, this is a recently discovered exploit that can allows hackers to take over any device with Bluetooth connectivity. Blackberry and Google have already fixed the vulnerability on their devices, and Apple has done the same for the iPhone. Many Android manufacturers have already fixed the bug for their devices, but many are yet to receive it.
