AT&T is rolling out a huge update to the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus with new features and November security patch. The update is 480 MB in size and comes with build number G950USQU2BQK5 on the Galaxy S8, and build G955USQU2BQK5 on the Galaxy S8 Plus.
As per the official changelog, the new update for AT&T S8 and S8 Plus adds support for a new mobile hotspot APN, HDR API for DirecTV, other improvements and bug fixes. The update also enhances network performance and Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) experience. When bringing your Galaxy S8 or S8+ from another carrier, you no longer need to factory reset the device to get AT&T network, just put in your AT&T SIM and restart the phone.
A similar update to this will be rolling out to all carrier variants of Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus in the US to make it easier for users to switch between carriers without having to factory reset their devices. Also, when you switch carriers, any pre-installed apps from the previous carrier will be automatically disabled upon a simple reboot of the device.
