AT&T is rolling out a new software update to each of the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge+. Both updates carry July 2018 security patches and a plethora of other bug fixes and performance enhancements not mentioned.

The updates are rolling out over the air, with the Galaxy Note 5 receiving software version N920AUCS5ERG1 and weighs 21MB while the Galaxy S6 Edge+ is getting version G928AUCS5ERF2 and weighs about 21MB.

The duo was launched in the second half of 2015 and came preinstalled with Android Lollipop and has since received two major OS upgrades, currently sitting at Android Nougat. There have been flashes of news that they could get Android 8.0 Oreo, but nothing is concrete yet. In fact, only T-Mobile has seemingly indicated that the Galaxy Note 5 and S6 Edge+ will get Oreo. Only time will tell!
