ASUS has unveiled its latest gaming powerhouse smartphones - the ROG Phone 9 and ROG Phone 9 Pro. The new devices pack the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset that delivers substantial performance improvements over previous generations.

The company has completely redesigned the internal structure to optimize cooling. They've split the battery into two cells and positioned the chipset between them for better heat distribution. A 57% larger graphite sheet helps maintain lower temperatures during intense gaming sessions.

Both phones sport a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution. While the standard refresh rate is 165Hz, you can boost it to 185Hz in select games using Game Genie. The LTPO technology allows the refresh rate to drop to 1Hz during Always-On display mode to save battery.

The ROG Phone 9 Pro comes with up to 24GB RAM and 1TB storage, while the base ROG Phone 9 offers 12GB RAM and 512GB storage. Both models feature a 5,800mAh battery with 65W wired and 15W wireless charging capabilities.

The camera system on both phones includes a 50MP main sensor with improved 6-axis gimbal stabilization. The Pro model adds a 32MP telephoto and 13MP ultra-wide lens, while the standard version opts for a 5MP macro camera instead of the telephoto lens.

A standout feature is the enhanced AniMe Vision display on the back panel. The Pro model boasts 648 programmable mini-LEDs that can display Chinese and Japanese text, show custom animations, and even run retro games like Snake using the AirTriggers. The standard model includes 85 mini-LEDs for basic customization.

The phones are currently available in Taiwan, Hong Kong, and China, with a European release scheduled for December and a US launch in January. Pricing starts at €1,100 for the base model and €1,300 for the Pro version.
