The quest is divided into multiple artifact-style objectives. Each major component represents part of the rod’s construction. You must complete all of them before Astraeus allows the final exchange.

How to get Dusky Thread

Dusky Thread is obtained early and acts as the quest’s soft gate.

Step 1: Speak to Merlin

Find Merlin and accept the task related to Radiant Crystal mutations.

Step 2: Catch three Radiant Crystal mutations

You must submit one of each:

• Celestial Radiant Crystal - get from Celestial Rod

Arrive at the end of a Foggy Night. Arriving too early or too late will not work.

Step 2: Find the Shadow NPC

The NPC appears near the cabin area associated with high-tier rods.

Step 3: Place items in the correct order

Hold and place the following exactly in this order:

1. Resin
2. Driftwood
3. Molten Ripple

If the order is correct, the ritual completes and you receive the Astronomical Fretboard.

How to get Twilight Pegs

Twilight Pegs require natural weather and a specific summon trigger.

How to catch the Colossal Ethereal Dragon

The Colossal Ethereal Dragon is one of the rarest fish required for the Astraeus Serenade Rod.

You can only catch it during a Colossal Ethereal Dragon Hunt, which has a 0.2% chance to trigger at the start of each night. This hunt can occur only inside the Luminescent Caverns and Crimson Caverns.

If the hunt does not trigger when night begins, the dragon will not spawn at all for that cycle, meaning patience and repeated night checks are unavoidable for this requirement.

How to get Serene Strings and prepare the cash requirement

To complete the final Astraeus transaction, you must fulfill both an item and currency requirement.

You need to catch two Serene Strings by fishing in the Desolate Pocket of the Desolate Deep region. These are location-locked drops, so fishing elsewhere will not count.

Initially you were supposed to submit a Profane Leviathan instead of the Serene Strings.

In addition to the strings, you must also have 50,000,000 C$ available at the time of the final exchange. Without the full amount, Astraeus will not complete the transaction, even if all other quest items are ready.

Step 1: Go to the Underground Music Venue

Bring a Starfall Totem with you.

Step 2: Activate the instruments

Submit every required quest item and currency.
