That wasn’t so hard now, was it Apple? After a U.K. court directed Apple to issue an apology to Samsung for accusing it of copyright infringement over the iPad, Apple went ahead and posted a cheeky sorry-note on its UK website.

Well, obviously that didn’t quite work out they way Apple thought it would, and the court subsequently pulled Apple up again, and directed them to reissue the apology, which it ruled as untrue and incorrect, within 24 hours. Here’s a screenshot of the court judgment:

And as of a few hours ago, Apple seems to have finally realised that resistance was futile, and has gone ahead and put up the formal apology to Samsung prominently on the Apple UK web site. Here’s what it looks like, sitting pretty at the bottom of the Apple UK home page.

The court, and Samsung, should be both satisfied with the result now. Apple though, could have saved itself a lot of embarrassment by doing this right the first time.
