Follow the Footprints and Investigate locations
The footprints are laid out as a short route through the Rally and Unite objective area, with each stop being close enough that you can chain them quickly if you keep an eye on the ground and nearby interact prompts.
How to complete Follow the Footprints and Investigate
Step 1
Trigger the optional objective in Rally and Unite, then look for the first clear set of footprints on the ground near the objective path and interact to investigate.
Step 2
Follow the trail forward to Footprints location 2 and use the Investigate prompt as soon as you reach it so it counts.
Step 3
Continue along the same trail to Footprints location 3, then investigate it before moving on (this prevents losing track if combat or navigation interrupts you).
Step 4
Move on to Footprints location 4 and investigate, keeping your camera angled slightly down so the tracks are easier to spot.
Step 5
Reach Footprints location 5 and investigate; if the prompt doesn’t appear, adjust position slightly around the footprint mark until it does.
Step 6
Finish at Footprints location 6 and investigate to complete the optional step and update the quest objective.
