What to know

  • The workbench upgrade is part of your hideout progression: you’ll need to gather specific materials such as Metal Parts, Rubber Parts, Mechanical Components and possibly special alloys.
  • In some builds (for example early tests) the upgrade option may be locked or greyed out; many players report “Only in the full game” for certain benches.
  • Upgrading unlocks new recipes and crafting tiers, meaning once the station is upgraded you’ll see more gear and mods available.
  • Prioritize collecting the upgrade materials as you play, so you’re ready when the upgrade becomes available.

Upgrading the workbench in ARC Raiders is a key step to unlock higher-tier crafting, better gear and advanced blueprints. With the right materials and knowing where to look in your base, you’ll boost your crafting station’s capabilities and gain access to more powerful items.

How to Upgrade Workbenches in ARC Raiders

Go to your base/hideout and locate the workbench station (where you currently craft gear).

Interact with the station and locate the tab or menu labelled “Upgrade”, “Level Up” or similar (some players have seen “Level up” next to Crafting/Weapon Upgrades tabs).

Check the required materials listed for the next upgrade tier. For example: a certain number of Metal Parts and Rubber Parts.

Ensure you have those materials in your inventory and then select the upgrade. The materials are consumed and the station’s level increases.

After upgrading, open the crafting menu and check for newly unlocked blueprints/recipes that were previously hidden. Use the new station level to craft higher-tier items.

Continue gathering the next set of upgrade materials and repeat the process as higher tiers become available.

Workbench Requirements in ARC Raiders

Level 1

To unlock Level 1 at the Workbench, you need to complete 1x Rounds Played (i.e., play at least one round).

The Workbench Level 1 is automatically unlocked for all players as a starter station without material costs.

Higher Levels

Upgrades for the Workbench are currently locked or still in development. Details and materials needed for these higher upgrade levels are still pending full reveal, but will likely require rare resources gathered from missions or traders.

Role of the Workbench in ARC Raiders

  • It serves as the backbone for crafting basic and mid-tier weapons and ammunition.
  • Upgrading improves crafting efficiency and unlocks blueprints to craft more powerful weapons.

Items you can craft at Workbench Level 1

  • Looting Mk. 1: Basic loot enhancement tool crafted with 6x Rubber Parts and 6x Plastic Parts
  • Light Shield: Lightweight shield crafted with 2x ARC Alloy and 4x Plastic Parts, offers moderate damage mitigation with low weight

Keep progressing in Topside missions and collecting resources to be ready for these upgrades when they unlock.
