What to know

  • Osprey I is a rare, scoped bolt-action sniper rifle using medium ammo, offering solid damage (45) and good range (~80.3) for its rarity.
  • To unlock/craft it you’ll need to build it at the Workshop’s Gunsmith; specifically the recipe includes: 2 × Advanced Mechanical Components, 3 × Medium Gun Parts, and 7 × Wires.
  • The weapon can also be found as loot in raids, for example in the “Buried City” map in a random weapon case near a workbench.
  • It’s considered the best starter sniper in the game because of its balanced stats and versatility before you unlock the higher-tier sniper rifle.

The Osprey I is considered the most consistent sniper rifle option for ARC Raiders players who seek precision, damage, and reliability. Unlike the Ferro, it offers a faster bolt-action reload and an 8-round magazine for more follow-up shots, making it suitable for longer engagements. Its base 45 damage per shot is among the highest of any sniper in the game, allowing for effective enemy takedowns—even in PvP—with carefully placed shots.

Osprey I Sniper Rifle: Location

You can get the Osprey I through two main routes: world loot (weapon cases, high-risk zone caches, rare drops) and crafting from blueprints. Certain maps and domes—especially those marked as high risk on the Dam Battlegrounds—have greater spawn rates for weapon cases that can yield the Osprey I, but the process is heavily RNG-based.

Location Details
Dam Battlegrounds Frequently found in domes and testing annex areas
Buried City Weapon cases occasionally spawn Osprey I
High-risk domes Consistently contain weapon or loot cases
Loot bags / caches Random spawns, but higher odds in contested zones

Osprey I Specs, Blueprint farming and Spawn rate

The Osprey I does not always spawn—the loot pool is random. High-risk domes and generator puzzles frequently reward players with weapons, but the Osprey is just one possible drop. To ensure acquisition:

  • Prioritize blueprint farming: Complete blueprint missions or defeat mini-bosses for increased drop rates.
  • Try several Dom runs: Multiple runs in contested areas enhance your odds due to the randomness.
  • Once you have the blueprint, crafting is guaranteed if materials are available.

  • Osprey II: +20% bolt-action speed, +12.5% reload, +10 durability
  • Osprey III: +40% bolt-action, +25% reload, +20 durability
  • Osprey IV: +60% bolt-action, +37.5% reload, +30 durability.

Osprey I: Tips

  • Make use of the 8-round magazine for follow-up shots; only the Ferro beats it in pure single-shot power.
  • Optimal for stealth-focused builds with a suppressor, especially for PvP sniping from concealed positions.
  • Medium ammo is more plentiful than heavy, making it practical for extended raids.
  • Moderate ARC armor penetration means it excels against most enemies but falls behind Ferro for breaking heavy ARC armor.
  • The scope is always active—keep this in mind for close-quarters combat where quick-scoping may be necessary.

The Osprey I offers a perfect mix of damage, reliability, and ease of use for sniper enthusiasts in ARC Raiders. Its solid magazine size and scope make it competitive for both PvE and PvP, and accessible crafting and drop rates (with some effort) ensure most players can add it to their arsenal soon after starting out.
