Fabric: Location

You can get Fabric in four ways - Scavenging, Recycling, purchase from Celeste, and Scrappy!

Scavenging

Fabric commonly spawns in commercial, residential, and medical locations across maps in the game. These can include containers, cabinets, and shelves present in those areas. So make sure to check the areas marked commercial, residential, and medical on all four maps.

We found ours inside the Testing Annex building on the Dam Battlegrounds map.

Recycling

There are a variety of items that also yield fabric when recycled. These include:

  • Dog collar
  • Duct Tape
  • Durable Cloth
  • Expired Respirator
  • Polluted Air Filter
  • Rope
  • Ruined Parachute
  • Ruined Tactical Vest
  • Tattered ARC Lining
  • Tattered Clothes
  • Torn Blanket

Celeste

If you're in a pinch, you can buy fabric from Celeste, the in-game NPC trader. You'll need 1 assorted seed to get 1 Fabric.

Scrappy

Your pet Scrappy is another reliable source of scavenged items, including Fabric. So make sure to upgrade the little fella so it can gather as many items as possible.

Fabric: Known Uses

Fabric can be directly used to slowly restore health over a brief duration, providing a passive healing effect.

More commonly, players use fabric as a crafting component to create other medical items or upgrade workbench. These include:

  • Bandage
  • Durable Cloth
  • Medical Lab 1 (Workshop Upgrade)
  • Gear Bench I (Workshop Upgrade)

Fabric is an important item in the game. So ensure to make full use of it when crafting and upgrading.
