What to know

  • Found in Residential and Commercial loot pools (shops, apartments, housing blocks) rather than purely industrial or machine zones.
  • Used to upgrade your companion “Scrappy” (the base rooster) to Level 4.
  • Rarity: Uncommon. Trit-type item / trinket.
  • Cannot be recycled (i.e., you don’t turn it into basic materials).

In ARC Raiders, while most loot is tied to crafting, recycling or upgrades for your gear and base, some items are trinkets or collectible-type resources for building out side-systems (like upgrading your companion). The Cat Bed is such an item: it doesn’t recycle into crafting materials, but is required to progress your companion’s level and must be looted from residential/commercial zones.

Cat Bed locations

The Cat Bed spawns in residential and commercial loot spaces—think apartments, small shops, housing blocks; rather than machine zones or high-tech labs. The following table shows where to look on your four specified maps:

Map Primary Zones Tips
Dam Battleground Ruby Residence, Pale Apartments (residential housing blocks) Check shelves in living-quarters or crates in apartments.
Buried City Santa Maria Houses, Plaza Rosa, Grandioso Apartments Look inside residential flats and adjacent shops in these blocks.
Blue Gate Village housing, Raider’s Refuge, Ruined Homestead, Abandoned Housing Project Scan the housing areas; the Cat Bed tends to spawn in rooms or storage areas.
Spaceport (Although less residential) – check staff quarters, living modules near the docks Residential-type loot zones here may yield the item.

How to use Cat Bed in ARC Raiders

Because Cat Bed is a collectible/trinket rather than a material, the usage is straightforward:

  • You must carry the Cat Bed back on extraction in order for it to count.
  • When you return to base/hideout, navigate to your scavenger companion (Scrappy) upgrade menu.
  • Use 1× Cat Bed item to upgrade Scrappy to Level 4.
  • After using it, it’s consumed and no longer appears in your looted items list.
  • Because it can’t be recycled, you should treat finding it as a priority if you want to advance Scrappy’s level.

Tips for faster Cat Bed farming

  • Use free-loadout runs (low-risk gear) when going to purely loot for Cat Beds — since residential zones may still have enemy presence or risk.
  • Prioritize the residential/commercial loot zones I listed in the table above.
  • Sweep the apartments/shops thoroughly: check shelves, crates, closets rather than just large boxes.
  • Clear the area quickly, grab the Cat Bed, and head to extraction to minimize risk of losing it.
  • Try these runs when you also need other residential‐loot items (so you can multitask).
  • Mark your extraction route in advance so you can get back quickly after finding the item.
